NROs arrived at the described location and split up, with one making contact with the woman in the car while the other began observing the man who was actively angling on the river bank below. The man was observed angling with both rods set up near him as well as placing sauger he was catching in a holding device placed in the water in front of him.
The man was deceptive when asked about his fishing activity He was directed to gather his fishing equipment and walk back to his car where the second NRO was waiting. In total, the man had 15 sauger in his possession.
The man was charged for angling with more than a single line and possessing more fish than the possession quota. He entered a guilty plea and was assessed a fine of $479.00 - all the fish and the seized equipment were forfeited to the Crown.
