| Description: |
In response to several years of
complaints regarding the poaching of elk
and deer near the Duck Mountains, Roblin
Resource Officers conducted an early
morning elk decoy operation. They set
up the decoy on to private land adjacent
to PR #594 during the opening morning of
the late rifle elk season.
It wasn't long when a male adult shot
several times at the elk decoy from the PR.
Barry Pearton of Roblin was charged
under the Wildlife Act and Wildlife
Regulations. His rifle was seized.
On January 18, 2007 Mr. Pearton plead
guilty to both charges and received a
fine of $959.00. The rifle was returned
to the owner. |
