| |
| Description: |
While responding to a public complaint
of illegal deer baiting in the
Shellmouth area, a Roblin NRO staked out
a hunting blind. It was the opening
morning of the General Deer season and
the location was near or on an old
abandoned rail bed on private land.
A male subject who appeared to be
hunting was observed utilizing the blind
for the purpose of hunting deer.
The Officer advised the male subject
that it was illegal to hunt deer within
800 meters of a Cervid bait. The subject
stated that he did not know the bait (2
salt blocks) were near the blind.
On December 18, 2006 Cliff Davidson of
Russell, Manitoba pled guilty to hunting
within 800 meters of a cervid bait. He
received a $250 fine. |
