| Description: |
Selkirk officers received information of
a whole deer abandoned near Pittsburgh
Avenue in the City of Selkirk. The
Investigating Officer observed a 2005
General Deer Hunting tag attached to the
animal. The animal had been field
dressed but the carcass was whole.
Further investigation revealed that a
licenced hunter had given the animal to
the accused. There was no explanation
given as to why Dennis McCHESNEY of
Selkirk chose to abandon and waste the
carcass of the deer. He received a
default conviction and was assessed the
specified penalty of $535 plus a 2 year
suspension of all Manitoba hunting
privileges. |
