| Description: |
A Saskatchewan man pleaded guilty to
illegal hunting of exotic animals in
Manitoba and was fined $12,160.
Darcy Raymond Lepowick of Yorkton,
Sask., was charged in November 2004
with several offenses, including
conducting penned elk hunts, guiding
without a licence and possession of
illegally taken wildlife.
Lepowick's hunting privileges have
been suspended for one year.
Manitoba Conservation conducted the
investigation after being tipped off
of the illegal hunting by four
residents of Wisconsin returning to
the United States. The four claimed on
a customs declaration they had
participated in a penned elk hunt in
Manitoba that had been guided by a
Saskatchewan man. |
