| Description: |
Lundar Officers responding to complaints
alleging poachers shooting at deer from
a road and onto private lands set up a
deer decoy. A red Ford pickup truck was
observed driving through the complaint
area during the General Deer season of
2008. A rifle barrel extended out of
the vehicle and a shot was taken at the
decoy right from the seat of the truck.
Officers converged onto the scene and
captured Kevin DEMIANIW of Winnipeg.
DEMIANIW was charged with discharging a
firearm from a vehicle and the rifle was
seized. On January 28, 2009 Kevin
DEMIANIW pleaded guilty to the offences
and received total fines of $1635.50.
The rifle was ordered returned. |
